I have been using this scanner for about a year now and been very pleased with the quality of scans. However I am not so pleased with the scanning time produced by it. So recently I invested in a SCSI card (Adaptec 2930). I thought it might possibly be helpful to someone pondering over whether or not to swap to SCSII to know the difference. I monitored the following improvements with a negative picture scanned at 4000 dpi with FARE on generating a 54,4 Mb file (SCSI / USB): thumbnail_scan 13 / 23 - 43 %; preview_scan 43 / 52 - 17 %; scan 300 / 544 - 45 %.
