: I have the Canon FS4000 but do not know how to get the detail I am looking for. I am trying to get digital files of my wife's watercolor paintings. Some of the backgrounds are very complex with magenta, yellow and a blue wash over the top. The Canon 24-bit scan results in spotted blues instead of the gradual wash that exists in the actual painting. I tried 42-bit but it was no better and I had less control in Photoshop to color correct. Did I get the wrong scanner for my purpose? Or do I not know how to obtain very accurate color images with the Canon? Or, am I expecting more out of a film scanner than is currently possible? Please help.
